Sony Ericsson z610i Cell Phone

I'll admit it. I love Sony Ericsson phones. In a compact form factor, most models combine the best elements of a smartphone--visually stunning photos and videos, superb audio recording and playback, email clients that work seemlessly with POP3, IMAP and exchange servers, strikingly beautiful high resolution screens with browsers that resize web pages, fast processors, excellent reception and, now, a clamshell SE sporting a glossy, smooth exterior that's beautiful enough to put on your coffee table. The z610i offers all these features with an RSS reader, fast Internet browsing, 3G and video calling where available, Play Now functionality (demo ringtones, themes and videos before purchase), calendar/to do organizational tools and complete bluetooth connectivity. The OLEAD exterior display is touted as innovative--and it is--showing time, signal strength, remaining battery power, song titles and more. But it's the "feel" of the z610i that is tactically different from all other SE phones I've tested and used. It FEELS good in your hand. And, despite the complaints about smudges and finger prints due to the glossy exterior, easily wiped clean and shiny with a soft cloth, it's almost as if your fingerprints and smudges are temporarily ingrained into the exterior itself. Unlike other flip and candy bar phones, this SE BECOMES part of you. It's Japanese inspired design is truly one of the most attractive I've experienced in my 2+ years reviewing mobile phones for eBay and on blogs. I've commented numerous times in my blogs and in eBay reviews that the attractiveness of a mobile device determines to a great extent its use. If you love a design--if the phone draws you to it--then you'll spend the time learning its functions and experiencing the joy and satisfaction of well-made, ergonomic mobile devices. The z610i SE is a phone worth having and it's no wonder that CNET Asia proclaims it as one of the most popular new smartphones. Check it out. Brian

Welcome to Mobile Telephony

Thought I'd expand my eBay mobile telephony blog to Blogger for greater coverage. The purpose is the same: to discuss, review, dream about and just THINK how mobile devices are changing our lives. I'm a smart phone/PDA geek who's sold high-end mobile devices on eBay (bwilsonbp) for several years--not for profit, but to introduce eBay users to the BEST of the BEST in mobile telephony. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area in the middle of Silicon Valley and have worked for and consulted with high technology companies for over 20 years. I'm fascinated how innnovative mobile devices change human communication. From the bluetooth freaks to WIFI phones and Skype to the integration of high megapixel photography and streaming audio--you'll find it here. I invite you to post your thoughts about mobile telephony's impact on an increasingly wireless world. Brian
